The first season gave you a tournament with real stakes. This one strips away the game and replaces it with something worse: watching people choose between their Sekirei and their own survival. The show actually commits to the cost of attachment instead of playing it for comedy, which means every hug between a master and their Sekirei becomes something you have to watch break.

The second stage of the Sekirei Plan is underway, and Minato Sahashi and his Sekirei must ready themselves for new battles as the rules change. The city of Shintou Teito has been sealed, so no Sekirei or Ashikabi can leave. Not everyone wants to fight: some Ashikabi care so deeply for their partners that they would give up the prize rather than lose them, while others treat their Sekirei as mere tools. Rumors spread that the powerful Single Numbers have joined the contest, and a greater threat closes in on the city. The season mixes action and comedy with ecchi elements.
