Shounen to Mahou no Robot is a music video set to a song by 40mP featuring GUMI, and it was featured on NHK's Minna no Uta program. A boy loves music but is unable to sing when others are listening. A scientist gives him a robot, and he teaches it music and singing so that it can perform for him. Through a kind of magic, the robot grows into a person of its own. The video works as a picture of how Vocaloid software has let shy or uncertain creators hear their songs sung, and of how the Vocaloids came to have personas of their own through what those creators made. The piece is a single short sci-fi music video.
