Ryu's hands shake before he throws a Hadou. The show understands that the real fight is the one inside him, the one against becoming Akuma, not the one against whatever opponent shows up. It trusts you to see the monster in the man before the man sees it in himself.

Ryu holds the title of Street Fighter champion, but he has to resist and defeat the Dark Hadou, a power that already overtook Akuma, the brother of his teacher Gouken. On top of that struggle, a young boy named Shun turns up out of nowhere and insists that he is Ryu's long-lost brother. The story plays out as a single OVA episode that mixes action with drama.
