Four workers spend the night around a campfire, waiting for morning. Three of them chat about assorted topics until they hear noises made by a horse, and the commotion rouses their sleeping companion. The three head off to find out what is going on, while the fourth quickly drifts back to sleep. In his dreams he speaks with the plants and trees on the mountain about a plot of land he hopes to obtain. The film is a loose adaptation of the Miyazawa Kenji short story of the same name, told as a single psychological feature.
