Cid is finally out of his depth, and the show knows exactly how funny that is. He's spent an entire season orchestrating shadow wars like a deranged puppet master, but the Blood Queen doesn't care about his scripts, she's the one variable in his plan that won't perform on cue. Season 2 is what happens when a comedy built on one man's elaborate delusion meets an actual supernatural threat that refuses to play along.

Cid Kagenou's plans have gone smoothly so far, but a time of awakening is coming. Lured by rumors of riches, he joins his sister Claire on a trip to the notorious Lawless City, where a red moon hangs low and three monarchs hold power: Yukime the Spirit Fox, Juggernaut the Tyrant, and Elisabeth, a progenitor vampire called the Blood Queen who has slept for ages. Claire sees the hunt for Elisabeth as a chance to prove herself. Cid would rather slip away from her, grab as much loot as he can, and stage a dramatic entrance as Shadow. As the Blood Queen's awakening nears, her subordinate Crimson launches a scheme that throws the town into chaos. Claire teams up with the vampire hunter Mary to look for her missing brother, while Beta and a group of Shadow Garden recruits also reach the city. Everyone heads for the Crimson Tower. The season mixes action, comedy and fantasy.
