Asley has spent a couple thousand years in solitude, kept company only by Pochi, his Level 100 dog familiar. When Pochi insists he get some fresh air for the first time in two centuries, Asley heads back into civilization and finds a brand-new world waiting for him, along with a reputation that needs serious damage control. An immortal sorcerer saddled with unflattering titles does not exactly inspire confidence. Back among people, Asley tests his magic and sets out to shed those titles and restore his name, and he may help Pochi take first place in the mysterious Familiar Feud along the way. Great evil still needs fighting and the world still needs saving, all while Pochi keeps offering pointed advice. Part fish-out-of-water comedy and part fantasy adventure with romance and supernatural touches, the story finds its humor in an ancient, eternally youthful goofball catching up to a world that moved on without him.
