Louise finally stops pretending she doesn't need Saito, and the show stops pretending the romance is background flavor. Void magic enters as a real threat, but the actual tension lives in whether these two can stay together when the world keeps trying to rip them apart. The comedy never stops landing, but it's doing something harder now: making you actually care if they make it.

Not long after the war, Saito and Louise are finally getting along, because she knows he gave up his only chance to return to Tokyo for her. Hailed as heroes for defending Tristain, the pair face heavy pressure to keep protecting the kingdom. Louise receives a mysterious secret book from Queen Henrietta and starts using Void Magic, a power strong enough to wipe out an entire village, though it brings its own challenges. Meanwhile a new villain schemes against the Crown, a political struggle looms, and treachery threatens both the queen and the students at the academy. Expect a mix of action, comedy, romance and fantasy adventure.
