Maya is a female bee who is thought of as something of a rogue because she has left her hive in search of adventure. In this sequel to Mitsubachi Maya no Bouken, each episode sends her out with a group of insect friends on a new outing, and nearly every story carries a lesson aimed at young children. Drawn from the book by Waldemar Bonsels, the series mixes adventure with comedy across 52 episodes.
