Riku Haruma starts high school with no sense of where his future lies. Then he notices Akira Kariya, a student on the athletic field who jumps higher, runs faster and tries harder than anyone Riku has seen. Akira plays rugby, the sport Riku once loved but quit because of his build. Watching Akira's rough, untrained running, Riku offers a piece of advice without thinking, and it brings an immediate improvement. Riku lacks the size and power of players like Akira, but he has far more experience, and he comes to see that the struggling team's real need is leadership. That moment rekindles his passion for rugby in a sports drama built around the game.
