Makoto's not interested in being the strongest, he's building something the goddess didn't plan for, and watching her realize she created her own rival is its own kind of satisfying. Season 2 takes the bloat out of season 1 and lets the actual story breathe, revealing a world where every alliance and recruit matters because you've watched him earn them one conversation at a time. The pacing stays glacial until the finale hits, but that's the cost of a show more interested in building a community than destroying one.

Makoto Misumi has built a growing community of outcasts in the world that once cast him aside. But peace never lasts.
