CLAMP spent years building X in manga before anyone saw it move. This is them showing you why the waiting mattered, four songs that compress the first catastrophe into pure mood. Three videos are just stills, beautiful and static. The fourth is Madhouse actually animating the collapse, and it moves like a requiem for a world that doesn't know it's already ending. The music does the real work here. It has to.

X² double X is a brief prequel to the theatrical X film, running under three minutes and assembled from four music videos. The first three are built from still images of CLAMP's X artwork from before 1994, with live-action footage mixed in. The fourth, animated by Madhouse, is the only one with a real story. It introduces several of the major characters and races through the events of the early X manga, the same ground as the first three episodes of the X TV series, all of which come before the movie.
