The first half is a mess of introductions that make no sense until the mystery clicks in episode 7 and suddenly every scattered scene becomes deliberate. The OST doesn't just accompany the story, it is the story, Vocaloid covers layering meaning into moments that would feel hollow otherwise. By the finale you understand why the show burned through chaos to get there, but you'll spend weeks arguing with friends about whether that payoff justified the confusion.

At an academy in a vast university city, clubs are central to student life, and every club takes part in a singing contest each fall. Transfer student Saku Otonomiya starts the year late because his older sister is in the hospital. Between looking after her and working a part-time job, he has little time to join a club. Meanwhile, the singing club wants to perform Sousuke Kagura's song "Cloudy Days", but Kagura thinks only a VOCALOID can handle its three-octave range. He will agree only if they find a singer who can. When Kagura hears Otonomiya sing it flawlessly, he asks him to team up for the contest, while the singing club pushes Otonomiya to join them instead. As the contest nears, Otonomiya has to settle his doubts and choose a partner. The show mixes comedy, music and everyday school life.
