It starts from a loss most sci-fi won't commit to: Earth is already gone, and nobody is getting it back. Humanity lives inside starships hacked out of the pieces of a shattered moon, which tells you everything about how badly the Vice won the first round. Those aliens are machines, they don't posture and they don't parley, and the only thing in the universe that scratches them is a girl in an Alice Gear. So the fleet's entire survival strategy is Actresses, young women born into a weapon they didn't ask for, launched into vacuum because biology picked them. The show knows exactly how ugly that math is and keeps the suits gorgeous anyway, all thruster flare and hardpoint detail. Built from a mobile game, sure, but the premise has teeth: the last hope for the species is somebody's daughter, and the adults strap her in regardless.

Humanity lost Earth centuries ago. The Vice, a race of mechanical aliens, drove people off the planet and into a drifting existence in space aboard starships built from fragments of the broken moon. Humanity's last hope rests with the Actresses, young women born able to use Alice Gears. These mechanical suits are the only weapons that can hurt the Vice, and they may finally let humanity push back against the invaders. The result is a science fiction mecha series built around that struggle.
