Azumaya's still hung up on a goodbye Takato never explained, while Takato's chasing passion in Spain trying to become worthy of him, two men orbiting the same hurt from opposite sides. Spain itself becomes the real third character here, all landscape and light that mirrors what they're actually fighting about: whether love means staying put or learning to burn brighter. The dance scenes look rough, but the emotional choreography between them lands every time.

Azumaya and Takato are cast together in "Blood Wedding," a two-person stage play that features flamenco dancing. Takato has never danced before, and rehearsals show him how far he trails Azumaya, whose ancestry gives him an edge. Eager to outshine his co-star, Takato heads to southern Spain to learn the passion the dance demands. There he meets Ceres, an older, handsome flamenco dancer, but his plans are upset when Azumaya shows up to visit his grandfather's hometown. Now Takato must also deal with Azumaya's family and a surprise rival for Azumaya's affection named Antonio. Meanwhile, Azumaya remains caught up in a past moment when Takato said goodbye without letting him have a say. The film adapts Sakurabi Hashigo's BL manga and mixes romance, comedy and drama.
