Anime Like Delusional Monthly Magazine
A broke editor and a kid chase the weirdest shit in town for a magazine nobody reads, and somehow that's the most fun anime gets this year. Every episode is a new mystery that doesn't care about making sense, just about the three of you figuring it out together before it gets weirder. The joke isn't that the mysteries are fake, it's that they're real enough to be stupid, and that's all the permission this show needs to stop explaining anything and just go.
SYNOPSIS
In Most City, a cramped publishing office on the second floor of a decrepit building houses the staff of Delusional Monthly Magazine: a quirky periodical dedicated to documenting the world's most inexplicable phenomena. The skeleton crew consists of an elegant editor-in-chief, Tarou J. Suzuki who serves as the magazine's lone editor, a grade-school kid named Jirou Tanaka, and Saburou, a dog whose contributions to journalism remain unclear. Rather than actually work, the three spend most days loitering in Rock, the coffee shop directly below their office, waiting for something interesting to happen. When scientist Gorou Satou walks in seeking help with a baffling mystery, their lazy routine shatters. What begins as one consultation spirals into a chain of increasingly strange cases that blur the line between genuine supernatural occurrences and elaborate delusions. As the team investigates each bizarre event, they discover that separating fact from fiction might be impossible, and that sometimes the strangest explanations are the only ones that fit. Mystery and absurdity collide in equal measure.
