Hell's middle management is run by a demon with the patience of a burnt-out accountant and the communication skills of someone who's already explained this seventeen times today. The comedy lives in the gap between Hoozuki's ice-cold competence and the absolute chaos of yokai, gods, and bureaucratic nightmares that keeps landing on his desk. Three episodes is exactly enough time to remind you why this show's brand of deadpan absurdity, where the joke is often just watching someone refuse to react to something completely insane, never gets old.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu 2 OVA is a set of three original video animation episodes released in 2019, combining comedy with supernatural elements. The episodes were packaged with the limited editions of volumes 29, 30 and 31 of the Hoozuki no Reitetsu manga, so they reached fans alongside the printed source material.
