This show knows exactly what it is and refuses to apologize for it. The animation is genuinely gorgeous, the timing on the ecchi gags lands harder than shows pretending they're too serious for their own premise, and every action beat gets the budget it deserves. Kikuru's deadpan dad energy against his heroines' chaos, monsters designed specifically to create situations, and zero narrative pretense, it's ecchi comedy that doesn't waste your time justifying why you're watching.

Kikuru Madan is one of the most experienced hands in the guild of Mebuki, but he feels he has squandered his youth and wants to retire. His conscience will not let him leave until the guild has someone to carry on. The receptionist Enome places four new recruits in his care: the lively beastwoman Hitamu, the prodigy Maidena, the easygoing Toxico and the steadfast Hanabata. Each has real talent along with flaws that get in the way, such as Hitamu's severe clumsiness and Hanabata's accidental lewdness. Meanwhile, the monsters beyond the town walls have started going after women in lecherous ways, piling trouble onto every outing. Kikuru still means to retire early, and training his apprentices properly is the only route there, in a comedic, ecchi fantasy romp.
