It asks nothing of you. Three minutes a pop, chibi proportions, and thirteen Nijigasaki girls doing absolutely nothing of consequence, which is exactly the point after the club already survived being disbanded in season one. This is where Kasumi's gremlin scheming, Kanata falling asleep mid-sentence, Ai's terrible puns and the Rina-chan Board's shifting expressions get room to breathe without a live show or a solo debut hanging over them. The 4-koma DNA shows: setup, escalation, punchline, out, no fat on it, no lesson learned. If you came out of the main series attached to these thirteen as people rather than as a setlist, this is the format that rewards that. It's the anime equivalent of your group chat still going off years after the thing that made you friends ended.

NIJIYON ANIMATION 2 is the second season of NIJIYON ANIMATION, the short-form anime drawn from the spinoff of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. The first season followed the members of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club through their daily lives. The new run spans twelve short episodes and blends comedy, music and slice of life.
