Violinist Kiyora Miki gets together with Shinichi Chiaki, Megumi "Nodame" Noda and two of their friends to call on the renowned conductor Franz von Stresemann in Vienna, only to find that he has run off to Japan. Making the best of the wasted journey, they tour famous sights in the city. Along the way Kiyora admits that she has not seen her boyfriend, Ryuutarou Mine, for a whole year while she prepares for an international competition in Paris. Chiaki and Nodame promise to come to the final round, and back in Paris they get a visitor they did not expect. The special is a comedy and romance with a musical focus, set before the first episode of Finale.
