The show commits to the bit so hard that the actual gun mechanics become a weird secondary language underneath jokes about girls literally being weapons, and it never breaks character about that conceit. Every personality is built directly from how that rifle actually works, from reload speed to fire rate to historical era, which means you're learning small arms manufacturing history while watching a guy try not to get shot by his own staff. It's stupid and it knows it, but the specificity of the weapon-to-character translation keeps it from collapsing into generic fanservice, because you can't separate the girl from what she actually is.
Genkoku arrives at Seishou Academy as a newly hired homeroom teacher. What he finds instead is a middle school full of girls who are, quite literally, personified assault rifles from around the world. Each student embodies a real-world gun, complete with a name derived from her weapon's designation. FNC goes by Funko, M16A4 is Ichiroku, and the roster continues with military precision. Hot-tempered Funko has her sights set on Genkoku, hoping to become his own personal weapon, while warning signs about loaded chambers and firing in the hallways leave him wondering what he has signed up for. It's equal parts absurdist comedy and action. The humor comes from the sheer disconnect between cutesy schoolgirl hijinks and the lethal capabilities lurking beneath.
