Lina Inverse doesn't need a world-ending threat to be funny, just a cursed seafood dish and the guarantee that someone will say something stupid. The premise is absurd on purpose, four legendary adventurers reduced to squawking in octopus language, their dignity gone before anyone even tries to fix it. This is Slayers at its best: chaos that earns every laugh because the characters earn the chaos first.

Lina and Gourry arrive in Acassi, a town by the sea known for serving octopus tentacle as a delicacy. The dish hides a curse: whoever eats it can speak only Takogo, the tongue of octopi. Amelia, Zelgadiss and Xelloss turn up too, and Lina, Gourry, Amelia and Zelgadiss all fall under the spell. Meanwhile the octopi call on a mazoku's power to be rid of the humans for good. To rescue the town, the white sorceress Ruma must learn the cure from a master she lost long ago. Adventure, comedy and fantasy mix in this feature-length film.
