Three minutes in and you're grinning like an idiot, and you know it. This is the track that had to introduce Nijigasaki to the world before the TV anime existed, selling nine stubbornly solo-minded girls as one club in a single chorus and pulling it off. It doubles as the opening movie for School idol festival ALL STARS, which means for a huge chunk of the fandom this was the first time Ayumu, Kasumi, Setsuna and the rest ever moved and sang at all. Then season 2 dropped it back in as an insert song and it hit completely differently, because by then you knew exactly what each of those nine voices had cost. That's the whole trick: a debut single that ages into a victory lap. Put it on when the day went badly and let the hook do its job.

TOKIMEKI Runners is a music video for the first group single by the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, part of the Love Live! PERFECT Dream Project. The video came out on the DVD and Blu-ray edition tied to the club's debut album, packaged with the opening movie for Love Live! School idol festival ALL STARS. The same song is also used as an insert song in the second season of the Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai TV anime.
